In the past month though it feels like my bestfriends and I have had more than our share of 'we're not kids anymore' moments. Honestly I don't think we will ever be the same again. On April 10th we took a drive through the Paint Rock River Valley here in Alabama. It was a beautiful day, the trees were just turning green, the red buds were in full bloom and the sky was blue. We all had not a care in the world and just enjoyed the day.
My sister summed it up on her Facebook page when she posted the pictures from that day.

"Saturday, April 10, 2010...three friends in a red truck head up AL 65 to go exploring. They found beautiful scenery, peace, quiet, relaxation, and the meaning of "being committed & taking one for the team."
Little did we know this would be one of the last days of peace we would know for quite awhile.
Shortly after the trip one of my friends began having terrible pains in her abdomen. Over a month later it is still undiagnosed but the doctors believe it is her gallbladder, she is set for me tests. To say that she is in pain is an understatement. It has been an exhausting month. Everytime she doesn't answer the phone I worry, when she calls I worry. I long for her to feel good again.
To add to the pain on April 22nd we learned that we were losing our classroom and moving across the hall. We are doing our best to see this as an opportunity to make something wonderful out of nothing. We have to keep our heads up and our hearts open, I know we can do it.
On April 28th, as I posted before another one of my friends father passed away. It was painful for us, unexpected and a total shock. It still feels like it is unreal most days, we keep expecting him to come home.
This past Monday my sister lost her job as Kindergarten teacher. We all knew it was an option with proration going on in our state right now, but it was still a shock. I felt like it had happened to me.
The final straw was Thursday, my friend who had lost her father rushed to the ER. She had experienced an ectopic pregnancy and lost one of her tubes. She had found out she was pregnant just before her father passed was now miscarring. We were all heartbroken once again.
I have spent alot of time talking with her over the past few days. We have been talking about how rough life has been lately. She commented that the next time we girls all get together we will feel 10 years older, and you know, she is right. Somehow it feels like April 10th was our last carefree day of innocence. I know good things will happen again, life can only go up from here, but it doesn't feel like it right now. We are hoping to get together this next weekend and I pray we can. I feel like we all just need to be together right now. We need to laugh, cry, and feel eachother's love, it feels like its been too long.
